Butchery

From our farm to our butchery

We’ve brought another part of the process in-house.

In October 2026, we took one of the biggest steps yet for Budgee Valley Beef. We bought our own butcher shop.

And not just any butcher shop. We purchased the same local butchery in Pittsworth that’s been cutting and packing our beef for almost three years.

It’s a significant investment for our family business, and one we’re incredibly proud of.

Why we made the move

We’ve always believed that producing great beef starts long before it reaches the butcher’s block.
Our Black Angus cattle are born and raised on our family farm at Budgee, on the Darling Downs. They’re 100% grass-fed and finished, and we know exactly how they’ve been raised.

But the work doesn’t stop when our cattle leave the farm.

How beef is aged, cut, prepared and packed makes a real difference to the final product.

Bringing our butchery in-house gives us greater control over these final stages, allowing us to maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect.

It also means we can continue improving our processes, developing new products and building a more efficient business for the future.

We’re fortunate to have an experienced team of butchers who already know our cattle, our products and the standards we expect.

Alongside preparing Budgee Valley Beef, the butchery continues to provide private processing services for local farmers.

Still family owned. Just a little more hands-on.

What started as a way to sell beef directly from our family farm has grown into something much bigger than we ever anticipated.

Owning our own butchery is another step towards building a business where we’re involved in every part of the journey, from the paddock to the finished product.

Our cattle are still raised on the same pastures. Our beef is still delivered fresh, never frozen. And we’re still the same family behind every order.

Now, we’re just doing a little more of it ourselves.
